Michelle Yee is a San Francisco-based, Asian-Canadian award-winning photographer, writer and former co-founder of SOFIA, a collective for women working in photography.

For over a decade in Toronto, Michelle has worked as a commercial photographer, specializing in portrait and documentary photography. In that time, Michelle worked with a wide range of clients that included Mercedes-Benz, The Associated Press (UK), Royal Bank of Canada, VICE, BUST Magazine, University of Toronto, Public Health Ontario, and The Globe and Mail.

In 2019, Michelle launched her first book project, AFTER THAT AUGUST, which is a photographic memoir that shares the personal story of her return to love after a divorce in a limited-edition, artist’s book.

Michelle is available for commercial and editorial photography commissions, speaking engagements, consulting, mentoring, and workshops.
